Hunting is an important part of conservation and safety an important part of hunting. Hunting, especially turkey hunting, has become very safe, and the goal of this curriculum is to make it even safer.

This CD-ROM was produced by the National Wild Turkey Federation in a partnership with the International Hunter Education Association to help people learn the skills to become safer, more successful turkey hunters. It was designed to take advantage of today’s technology by using computers, projectors, PDFs and PowerPoints to present the course for better student learning and retention.

The curriculum is divided into three courses so instructors can use the course that best fits their format. The short and the two-hour courses are for instructors who cover wild turkey hunting as part of a comprehensive hunter safety education course.

The full course covers every aspect of turkey hunting from pre-hunt preparation to calling to defensive hunting with an emphasis on safety. It even covers advance styles of turkey hunting such as muzzleloading and archery. Instructors can even customize the course by utilizing the lessons listed on the side menu and covering the lessons he or she believes is needed.

Each course has a script that can be used as an outline to teach the course or read to the students.
