New Mexico has a handful of trout species worth throwing a line at. Among the most popular game fish are rainbow, brown and lake trout. All can be caught using traditional trout fishing methods with fly-fishing being the most effective. When fishing streams, look for shaded pools and breaks in the stream. Trout often hide in these spots.
