The first CROSSHAIRS for CHRIST All-Women’s Hike is set for Sat., May 3 in the Sandia Mountains. The group will hike the Pino Trail, which is approximately 4.5 miles each way. Plan to meet at the Ellena Gallegos Picnic area at 8 am returning to the same location for lunch. Watch the website and check your email box for all the details including; what to bring and what to

PINO TRAIL 140
ABOUT THE TRAIL
The Pino Trail 140 is an easy hike with a moderate gain in elevation, 2760', on the west side of the Sandia Mountains. Beginning at 6437', the Elena Gallegos picnic area, the well marked trail is flat and even for nearly 1 mile, then begins to climb with gentle dips through the foothills. At 3 miles, the trail reaches an elevation of 8100' and ultimately ends at 9199', nearly 4.5 miles at the junction of the Crest Trail. On the trail you can expect to see wildflowers and wildlife fun.
COST
Parking at the trailhead costs $2 on weekends and $1 on weekdays.
FITNESS REQUIREMENTS
Regardless of fitness level, anyone can hike this trail. Hikers can always rest if needed or turn around when they think you're done!

WHAT TO WEAR - Dress in light layers
- Short sleeve shirt
- Long sleeve shirt
-Light rain jacket
-Light weight pants
-Hiking Shoes (Running Shoes will work)
WHAT TO BRING
- Sunscreen
- Hat
- Sunglasses
- Snacks (trail mix, granola/power or cliff bar)
- 1 quart of water or Gatorade (Minimum)
