HUNTMASTER
SUMMIT: Each year we request that all C4C Chapter
HuntMasters come together for a fall fly-fishing or fall
turkey hunt weekend. During this time, directors will be
encouraged with leadership training, outdoor skills development
and organizational reporting on finances and future vision
planning. Class is limited to
Chapter HuntMaster and 1 guest.
BECOMING
A HUNTMASTER: Perhaps one of the most important
roles is the Chapter is that of the Hunt Master. Participants
will learn the importance of being a servant and the basics
of planning and preaching in the field. This workshop is
the foundation for your ministry and is intended to offer
you a vast array of resources and study helps designed to
keep your ministry on track. Topics include: Sharing a testimony,
preparing a devotional, leading a non-believer to Christ,
encouraging members to fulfill the great commission.

BECOMING
A CAMPMASTER: The most critical
element of hosting a good outreach hunt is the base camp.
This workshop will be held on-location and will teach
the skills and confidence necessary to plan and execute
a successful, first-time C4C hunting/camping activity.
Participants will learn a variety of skills including:
setting up shelters, basic outdoor cooking, foil cooking
demonstrations, meal planning, essential equipment, basic
first aid, “Leave No Trace” camping skills,
creating campfire entertainment and planning ministry
devotionals. A classroom crash-course is also available
upon request.
Desired class size: 3-15 participants.
HOSTING
YOUR C4C BANQUET: There is a lot to consider when
planning your C4C annual banquet for your chapter. Everything
from setting up the planning calendar to promoting the event
must be planned in advance. This workshop is designed to
help you improve your success and build on your ministry.
Course topics include: Strategies for success, selecting
a committee, planning the calendar, selecting the venue,
budget, sponsorships, promotions and publicity, logistics
and the follow-up evaluation.
Desired class size: 2-25 participants.
HUNTER
EDUCATION: New Mexico State law requires all hunters
under age 18, to possess a certificate proving completion
of a state approved hunter education course. Each class will
meet the required minimum of 12 hours classroom time, study
time, hands-on instruction, practical and written examination.
Parents are required to attend with all children 10 and under.
Desired class size: 15-25 participants.
OUTDOOR
PHOTOGRAPHY: Learn how to improve your photographic
skills and capture the moment from a professional wildlife
photographer. This hand-on workshop will teach you all the
basics of operating your 35 mm or digital camera while tuning
your skills. Good pictures are critical to documenting your
history, improving recruitment and sharing your ministry.
Desired class size: 5-15 participants.
WATERFOWLING
BASICS: You don’t have to know a lick about
waterfowl hunting to become an immediate addict. Participants
will join a C4C waterfowl hunter on a live, hands-on hunt
to increase the skill level. Skills include: waterfowl identification,
improving shooting skills, blinds, decoys and calling.
Desired class size: 1-3 participants
per guide.
FLY-FISHING
BASICS: Designed for the true beginner, this workshop
will teach you bare-bones skills needed to catch your first
fish on a fly-rod. Topics include: learning to cast, selecting
a fly, setting up your line, locating fish, setting the hook
and exercising catch-and-release skills.
Desired class size: 1-3 participants
per guide.
TURKEY
HUNTING BASICS: Gobble! Gobble! Turkey can be one
of the best family hunting trips. This workshop is designed
to help you find the big Toms in the woods. Scouting, patterning,
dressing for success and basic calling skills will be taught.

THE
ELK BUGLE: Learn how to call a big bull elk in so
close you can feel his breath and swallow your own fear.
This workshop provides an opportunity to learn when and how
calls work. Photography and videography are encouraged and
participants are warned of personal danger.
